Connect an AI Assistant
You can connect Remember Me to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT and then work with your verses by chat — or, in Claude, by voice. Ask it to add a verse you just read, look one up, or take you through today’s review while your hands are busy.
The connection uses the Model Context Protocol , an open standard for letting assistants talk to services like Remember Me.
Two Servers
Remember Me offers two servers. Most people want the first one.
`https://auth.remem.me/mcp` Sign in with your Remember Me email and password. Your assistant can then read and change your own verses, lists and collections.
`https://mcp.remem.me/mcp` No sign-in. Read-only access to the published library of verse collections that everyone can browse.
Claude
Add the connector once on claude.ai in your web browser. It then becomes available in the Claude mobile app as well, including voice mode.
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add → Add custom connector
and enter the address
https://auth.remem.me/mcp. - Sign in and authorize (see Signing In below).
Once connected, you can simply say what you want — “add John 3:16 to my Bible study list”, or “let’s review my verses”. In voice mode Claude can take you through a whole review session hands-free.
The Claude free plan allows one custom connector. If you already use another one, you will need to remove it first or upgrade your Claude plan.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects in text mode. Voice mode does not support this kind of connection yet.
- Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
- Go to Settings → Plugins (or open chatgpt.com/plugins ) and press the + button.
- Enter the address
https://auth.remem.me/mcp. That is all you need — leave any client ID or secret fields empty. - Sign in and authorize (see Signing In below).
Developer mode is available on free ChatGPT accounts — you do not need a paid plan to connect Remember Me.
Signing In
Both assistants send you to a Remember Me sign-in page. It shows the Remember Me logo, the name of the app that is connecting, and a note that the app will be able to read and change your verses and collections. You will also see a warning that Remember Me has not verified the app — that is normal, and it is there so you only continue if you started the connection yourself.
Sign in with your ordinary Remember Me email address and password — the same ones you use in the app — then choose Authorize. The page is shown in your own language wherever possible, based on your browser settings.
The sign-in page is valid for ten minutes. If you leave it open longer you will see “Session expired — please restart the connection”, and you will need to start the connection again from your assistant.
Remember Me will never ask for your password anywhere other than on a page at remem.me. The sign-in page
shows that address at the bottom so you can check it.
What You Can Do
Once connected, you can ask your assistant in your own words to:
- Find and edit verses — look up a verse by its text, or by pasting a share link such as
https://web.remem.me/share/123456. You can change the reference, text, translation, topic or note, or delete a verse. Deleted verses go to the app’s wastebin and can be restored there. - Add verses — add a verse to one of your lists under a topic. If the topic does not exist yet, it is created for you.
- Review hands-free — take you through the verses in your New, Due and Known boxes, one at a time, with hints if you get stuck.
- Read the day’s passages — the readings for today from a one-year through-the-Bible plan. You get the references and links to open them in an online Bible, not the Bible text itself.
- Browse collections — search the published library, see what a collection contains, and check how a group is progressing. If you publish collections yourself, you can manage them too.
A spoken review changes nothing. Your due dates and progress stay exactly as they were — the assistant is quizzing you, not grading you. To move a verse forward in your review schedule, mark it as Remembered in the Remember Me app itself.
If Something Goes Wrong
“Unknown application.” — Only Claude and ChatGPT can connect to Remember Me. Other assistants and tools
are turned away on purpose. If you see this in Claude or ChatGPT, check that you entered the address exactly
as https://auth.remem.me/mcp, with nothing added to it.
“Invalid email or password.” — Use the same email address and password you use to sign in to Remember Me. If you have forgotten your password, reset it in the app or on web.remem.me first.
You are asked which account to use — If you have more than one Remember Me account, tell the assistant which one by its account name, not your email address. The message lists the names you can choose from, and you can always ask the assistant to list your accounts.
“Write limit reached” — There is a limit on how many changes can be made through an assistant: 30 within five minutes, and 300 per day. This protects your verses from a runaway loop. Reading is never limited. Wait a little and continue.
